There's something so poetic about one identity killing into another, fir better or for worse.
my interpretation is that this is all happening in the mind of someone else, the murder of the girl represents someone coming to terms with the fact they're trans.
But maybe I'm wrong, maybe the person is a trans woman, and this is a day dream where they think about coming out and being accepted by their loved ones, only for their fear and doubt to kill the girl and force them back into the closet.
(I'm not trans myself, please let me know if i've said something out of line here)
God this is such a cool experience, the descriptions are gonna stick with me along time!
thank you for the kind words!! any interpretation is entirely correct, haha. when i was writing it originally, it was about wanting to steal back the perfect life you could've had if you hadn't come out, but i left the specific motivations pretty open so that people could think about it however they wanted! one of the coolest things about this piece is seeing how people interpret it.
thanks for playing! π
YOOO THIS RULES. im also trans and i feel like i also killed who i used to be.. i love how u wrote this like a homecoming
thank you so much!!! i'm so glad that came across :D
I'm a trans man and I've always had the feeling that I killed my previous self and took over her body, so this was incredibly cathartic for me
ough this is so eerie and SO intriguing, the imagery and writing is gorgeous!!
what an experience!! this game, especially the writing, has such a visceral, cathartic feel to it. I really love the use of art and color in this, it worked with the narrative beautifully. i played through both endings and both were so vivid and meaningful. love all the layers and room for interpretation here, really great stuff!
thank you!!! <3
Absolutely fantastic writing that really gets into the mindspace (literally) of what it's like to face a crisis of self. The buildup of tension is superb, the graphics give the immersion so much more depth (especially near the end), and the words that you can choose to show the deeper meaning behind everything are perfect. Loving what you have created here!
thank you so much!! i'm glad you enjoyed it ^^
Awesome horror work.
Genuinely, after going through this, I feel like we need more trans based horror. Coming from a transmasc guy who loves horror, this feels like so much potential. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the true ending is a dream or fantasy for an easier way to transition. Cliche yes, but as someone who's had occasional shapeshifter dreams that I vaguely remember, I could definitely see it.
(Sidenote do not trust the shapeshifter dreams. They will likely give you gender pain.)
i agree!! this particular work was heavily inspired by other queer body horror, which is definitely a growing genre. if you're looking for more trans horror games, i would recommend we know the devil, winter (not quite horror imo, but very good), and SABBAT (a bit more fun and tongue-in-cheek), and for queer horror books, i would recommend tell me i'm worthless by alison rumfitt, her body and other parties by carmen maria machado, and our wives under the sea by julia armfield. i can't wait to see more come out in the next few years! <3
Wow, that is really good! I'm still processing my thought but wanted to give my compliments.
This is a great game but I'm so confused on the story. I'm not sure which interpretation is right lol.
any interpretation is right! it's deliberately vague so you can think about it however feels best to you - and if it's confusing, then that's fine too. is the girl in the right? is the narrator? are either of them? does she actually want this the way the narrator implies, or are they unreliable? etc. it's up to you! thank you for playing :))
i like this , the story is perfect
fantastic story
thank you! :D
Great art and a well paced story, nice work!
thank you for playing!!
Damn that was disturbing, congrats on the game
thank you for playing!! <3
Playing through this, I was rather mesmerized. Absolutely wonderful as an aesthetic piece; the backgrounds and artwork are killer, to be blunt. The writing as well is wonderful, brutal and merciless while having this erotic pulse running through it that just drives me crazy. So fucking good.
oh wow, thank you so much!! i'm glad you enjoyed it!!
wow this really fucked me up (complimentary). fantastic art and amazing pacing, great title, really engaging amount of interactivity too.
thank uuuu ππ i'm so glad u liked it
Truly stunning. Visceral and wonderful and terrible. Gut Wrenching.
Thank you so much for sharing this.
aaa thank u!!! ππ
Incredible stuff. Love the dynamic of how the two primary characters diverge, but also overlap in subtle ways too. The slowly building tension is well paced. And the graphics sold the vibe incredibly well.
thank you so much!! and thanks for the video :`) i really appreciate it!!! π

Ellis, holy shit. Everything about this was immaculate-- the gritty backgrounds, the lovingly drawn key visuals, and the STORY. You had me at the edge of my seat at every turn. This game was well worth the wait. Truly incredible work!!!
